Erwin Terrace Apartments
Erwin Terrace Apartments are part of a class A mixed use development across the street from Duke University and blocks from the Duke Hospital. Built in 2004, the 25 units consist of two-bedroom homes which have three different floor plans, the... largest having a den that many residents use as a third bedroom. Erwin Terrace is a limited access building, we provide free garage and parking deck parking, access to valet trash, and a coffee bar and lobby area for resident use. The units feature side-by-side refrigerators, ceramic top stoves, space saver microwaves, dishwashers, carpeting and ceramic tile flooring, contemporary fixtures throughout, and washers & dryers in the units. It sits atop Durham restaurant staples such as Sushi Love, Heavenly Buffaloes, Early Bird Donuts, and Naan Stop, just to name a few. It's on the DATA and Duke bus line and within walking distance to other restaurants, banks, grocery, and retail.
Erwin Terrace Apartments are priced very competitively and are quite nice inside, which make them a great option for students looking to live off campus in Durham. Located right on top of a number of good restaurants also makes the building quite convenient. However, there are a couple drawbacks. First, the building doesn't have any additional amenities like gym or pool, which are becoming increasingly more popular in Durham apartment complexes. Second, I found the doors and walls to be a bit thin and wish I didn't have to hear every conversation that happened in the hallways. Overall though, these were small problems, and I enjoyed my experience there.
